The BP watch has started!

My doctors office called on Monday morning and gave me a stinking heart attack! Apparently they didn't like my blood pressure at my appointment the previous Wednesday and wanted me to come in yesterday afternoon to leave a urine sample and take my blood pressure again. They had my lay down for 5 minutes before taking it and it was perfectly normal.

I'm going to start monitoring my BP at work. I'll be very intersted in how that goes because I know I get stressed out at work a lot. While I want to do everything I can to keep my baby and myself happy at this point I wouldn't be too upset to not be able to work. LOL

Re: The BP watch has started!

  • My parents have issues with BP. My dad always has high blood pressure when he comes into the office, and they actually take it twice with him, because it goes down so much at the end of the appointment. I bet the same thing is happening to you.

But, it wouldn't be the worst thing to not have to work.

  • Oh no. I hope it doesn't get too high.

On a side note: Did you take your sugar test yet? If so, how did that turn out?

I did a GTT around 10 weeks and passed it. I'll have another one done I'm assuming around 26-30 weeks (which is the routine one).

  • Hopefully it was a one time thing!  But it's a good idea to monitor for a while just to be on the safe side.  Although I agree, it wouldn't be awful to be told you didn't have to work.  :)

That's good. I was one point away from failing my first one so I had to do the 3 hour and I passed that one, however I still have to take another 3 hour at 28 weeks. Ugh.

  • I was pretty excited yesterday because I have normal readings most of the day. Not this morning! I got up, dressed and all that, went downstairs, fed the dogs and sat down for a few minutes and it was 144/88, bleh. I called my doctors office just to let them know. We shall see if I get a call back.

  • Hopefully it goes back down for you.  Not a great way to start a Friday.  :(
